The Morning GIF: Nicki Minaj worships the Queen, Adele rolls her eyes

Two complimentary GIFs from the Grammys, featuring the night's biggest winner and loser.

Here at the Daily Dot, we have an unofficial tradition of sharing GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you into the circle. In the Morning GIF, we feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.

Whether you watched the Grammys or skipped the visual aspects and went straight for the snark on Twitter, it was definitely one of the high points of new or old media in the last several months.

And definitely one of the low points too.

I’m referring of course, to the performance by the artist formerly known an Nicki Minaj and now and forever known as the Woman Who Ruined the Grammys. One part Sinead O’Connor, one part Linda Blair, and nine-and-a-half parts bat shit insanity, her rock operetta/performance-art piece “Roman Holiday” was nothing if not media-ready. What it was not: tuneful, danceable, meaningful, or even coherent.

In other words, it makes for a great GIF!

So here are not one, but two GIFs from the Grammys: The first is from NatHeartsYou and the second from old Daily Dot friends IBelieveInSherlockHolmes. The reason for the twofer will become apparent. (We spared you the part where Minaj was having a seizure atop the Dalek.)

You’re welcome.

Jimmy Kimmel's latest 'Mean Tweets' is meaner than ever
Twitter users’ insults to celebrities are the gift that keeps on giving. The old mantra of “never read the comments” still stands, but a handful of musicians are breaking that to participate in another one of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” segments. This time around, the “mean” tweets are more of a punchline than an actual insult, making the celebrities burst out laughing.
