Mary Katrantzou
Fashgif takes the Portlandia approach and gives this Mary Katrantzou design wings.

Here at the Daily Dot, we swap GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you in. In the Morning GIF, we feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.

Fashion is fantasy, and sometimes it is art. And sometimes, it is both, in a GIF, and that’s today’s Morning GIF.

Mary Katrantzou is an American-educated Greek designer working out of London, and something of a prodigy. She’s been singled out for support from Newgen, a British Fashion Council-funded organization that supports new designers of exceptional talent. They’ve given her their support for six consecutive collections, and she’s bagged awards all along the way. She’s particularly famous for her graphic prints referencing art, architecture, and the female form, as you can see from this dress in her Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection.

Fashgif is a Tumblr that brings particularly imaginative fashion designs to life, and they’ve done their best with this fitted little outfit with its valence-like shoulders and floaty, flirtatious hem. But it’s what Fashgif has added that really makes the look.
