Here at the Daily Dot, we swap GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you in. In the Morning GIF, we feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.

When President Obama announced, “Same-sex couples should be able to get married,” in an interview with ABC on Thursday and posted it on the front page of his personal website, the Internet predictably erupted. As expected, the news and reaction first broke on Twitter, then quickly moved to the blogosphere and more specifically to Tumblr, where users swiftly found expression in that Zeitgeistiest of artistic mediums: the animated GIF.

Meet the latest, and for now the giddiest, in single-issue Tumblrs: When Obama Endorsed Marriage Equality. There’s a GIF for almost everyone on this site: gays, straights, and wedding planners, etc.

And of course, no American celebration is complete without the Carleton Dance.

With so many awesome, extremely animated images from which to choose, it’s hard to decide  on a suitably iconic GIF to sum up the letter and spirit of the site. In the end, as with the presidential race itself, there really could be only one.

This one.

One of the mainstays of image remixing, this “Jeep Party” scene from the 2001 Ben Stiller movie, Zoolander, has provided the raw material for dozens of awesome GIFs featuring among others, The Dark Knight gang, Twilight, Star Trek, and even the Pensacola City Council.
