Not much has changed since summer: Drake is still ruling Spotify

On Thursday the platform released its top artists and tracks of 2016, and Drake remains the most streamed artist for the second year in a row, with more than 4.7 billion streams. He also continues to be the most-streamed artist in Spotify history.

The top-five list is rounded out by Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, and Kanye West. Rihanna topped the most streamed female artist list. Former One Direction member Zayn Malik hit paydirt as the No. 1 breakout artist. Newer feature Discover Weekly was streamed more than 9 million times in 2016.

Most interesting might be the emerging genres of 2016: Ambient fusion topped the list, followed by witch house. Speed garage, dangdut, and Brazilian gospel also made the cut.
