Is Daft Punk coming out of hibernation for a world tour?

The French electronic duo isn’t really into touring: It’s only done so in 1997 and 2006-2007, with the latter tour producing the album Alive 2007. So when a website appeared boasting Alive 2017, eagle-eyed fans started piecing it together.

The website just features the world “Alive” but if you zoom in on the “I,” you’ll see a hidden clock that appears to be counting down to a “wake date” of Oct. 27. There are more clues in the website’s source code, which has already been dissected. The numbers appear to cite latitude and longitude coordinates for Paris, Los Angeles, London, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paolo, Ibiza, and Indio/Palm Springs. The code also references Shep, a character in Daft Punk’s 2003 animated film, Interstella 5555

Rumors surfaced last week that the group might be touring next year. Many commenters think it’s a hoax, of course, but a YouTube account has also been created for Alive 2017 and the memes are still coming.
