Weird Twitter was born from the realization that the 140-character microblogging platform was an ideal stage to try out new jokes. There's no official list of who's "in" Weird Twitter, although some of its core participants and recurring jokes migrated over from early-2000s comedy forum site Something Awful. One computer-generated social graph of Weird Twitter centers around Something Awful contributor Jon "@fart" Hendren. Perhaps the most iconic Weird Twitterer is @dril, though it's widely rumored the account is controlled by several ghostwriters.
