Shiny electronics are incredibly sexy to look at… and then, after you’ve gotten your grubby little fingers on them, they start to lose their lure. Companies still continue to make your devices shiny because of the way the product tends to stand out in photos and on shelf store.

Ultimately, the tradeoff isn’t practical—which is likely why YouTuber SnazzyLabs’ new video has been getting a lot of attention, especially amongst gamers. If you’re willing to take the risk of potentially ruining your Xbox One, all you will need is a kitchen scrubber and some glass cleaning spray. Lightly scrubbing the shiny parts will remove the clear-coat and leave you with a brushed metal effect. Say goodbye to fingerprints!

As you can see, it’s incredibly simple, and even knowing that we’re sure many will be hesitant to deliberately scratch their fancy new $400 machine.
