The Tesla Model S continues to surge in popularity, even in rural China.

A user on Weibo, China’s version of Twitter, posted pictures of themselves charging a Tesla Model S in Sichuan Province—taking up most of a rural back road in the process.

All the person had to do was shimmy on up the pole, get to the transformer, run some wires down from the fuse box, wrap un-insulated wire around a plastic bag, and connect that all to a power outlet. With that, power to the luxury electric sedan was possible.

Obviously, this is highly dangerous, but with so few charging stations in China, sometimes owners need to get creative.

This also brings up the question: What was a super expensive electric car doing in rural China?
