Apple is bringing Siri to the Mac
As we saw with the announcement of OS X Yosemite, Apple really wants to blur the lines between its mobile and desktop operating systems. Now that the new desktop OS is complete with candy-colored icons and the ability to send texts and make phone calls, we've almost reached singularity.
But there's still one thing missing: Siri. iOS's digital helper has so far been confined to iPads, iPhones, and iPods. However, in a new patent application, Apple has indicated that it plans to bring Siri to desktop.

The document from February details a system that is incredibly similar to Siri: a personal assistant for the desktop that responds to your voice commands and queries. Perhaps the most exciting function of this "Siri for desktop" proposal is that it will be able to perform tasks by itself while the user continues working. How does asking Siri to do your homework while you continue to play video games sound?
