If you would have told me this morning that I’d see one of the most amazing toast-related inventions of our day by the time the sun set, I’d have called you a liar. Yet here we are, and the FurzoToasto—an electrically powered metal knife capable of both slicing and toasting a piece of bread in one stroke—is very much real.

Colin Furze

The knife is the brainchild of Colin Furze, who took a random fan comment from YouTube and turned it into a working piece of culinary genius.

Furze fashioned a large bandsaw-like tool and connected an electrical lead to each end. Once power is applied, the blade glows a bright red and is ready to perform its dual-purpose trick. You can check out the full build in his construction video below, or just dream of how amazing it would be to have this little beast sitting on your kitchen countertop.
