Amazon is expanding its same-day delivery service to six new areas, including New York City. The service, which includes over one million eligible items, is now available in Baltimore, Dallas, Indianapolis, Philadelphia and Washington DC.

Seven days a week, you can order items by noon and have them at your house before the end of the day. Amazon has a “Get it Today” filter on its site that will only show you items that are eligible for same-day delivery.

Items ranging from electronics like memory cards, video games, and gaming consoles, to school supplies like text books and lunch boxes, to household items like detergent and even toothpaste are eligible for same-day delivery.

As Amazon continues to expand its same-day delivery option around the country, it encroaches on a space normally dominated by stores like Walmart and Target. If you can place an order in the morning and have it delivered to your house by the time you get off work, Amazon can undoubtedly take some customers away from its retail competitors.

The expansion of same-day delivery is predicated on a cities’ proximity to an Amazon fulfillment center. Amazon continues to expand and add fulfillment centers around the country, most recently in Robbinsville Township, NJ, and Pittsburgh, PA.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member, same-day delivery only costs $5.99 for all items in your order. Non-Prime customers are charged $9.98 for the first item, and $0.99 for each additional item. You can find all eligble products at Amazon.com/sameday.
