After U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump proposed a ban on Muslims entering the United States, an influential Saudi Arabian prince has declared the New York businessman “a disgrace.”

Al-Waleed bin Talal, a 60-year-old worth approximately $24 billion and followed by more than 4 million accounts on Twitter, is known for being relatively outspoken compared to the rest of the Saudi royal family.

Trump, who is leading the Republican presidential race, has made bluntness and a willingness to engage in political battles on Twitter a signature of his campaign.

Trump built that lead while calling for the U.S. government to track all Muslims in the United Statesban Muslims from entering the countrymonitor mosques, and “close up” the Internet to combat radical Islamic terror online.

Saudi Arabia, an oil-rich theocratic monarchy that promotes globally one of the most radically conservative forms of Islam, is one of the United States’ closest allies in the region. Even so, the country has been subject to widespread criticism during this presidential race for, among other things, their lack of investment in the fight against the Islamic State.
