Voters trying to navigate to RickPerry.com are in for a surprise.

The domain name is a placeholder that redirects to the website of a very different Texan presidential candidate: RonPaul2012.com.

But don’t point the finger at Ron Paul’s election team. They’re just a red herring.

“The Paul campaign does not have anything to do with this and does not appreciate this sort of thing,” campaign spokesman Gary Howard told the National Journal.

Howard said the campaign team was working to resolve the issue.

This isn’t the first time Ron Paul’s team has been accused of rivalry with Rick Perry. In August, a Texan Ron Paul supporter ran a newspaper ad seeking women who had slept with Perry. The attempt was a one-person attack by supporter Robert Morrow, and Ron Paul’s team wasn’t involved.

According to the Internet Wayback Machine, combined with reporting by the National Journal, RickPerry.com originally linked to RickPerry.org as lately as 2009.
