Police arrested nearly 200 people Thursday as Occupy Wall Street protesters marched on Wall Street itself, the first major action since the movement was forced from their encampment in New York City’s Zuccotti Park.

Protesters aren’t the only ones being tossed in jail, however. At least 26 journalists have been arrested since Sep. 24, according to Josh Stearns, the associate program director of media watchdog group Free Press.

Stearns has been tracking the arrests on Twitter and other news sites, compiling the snippets into a meticulously managed Storify. But what’s the point in arresting journalists in the first place? As Stearn’s efforts show, the iconic chant of the 1960s antiwar movement no longer applies. Now, “the whole world is watching”—and also reporting.
