‘The Daily Show’ tries to answer the big question: Are cops racist?

Even 'Daily Show' correspondents have some implicit bias.

It’s only Trevor Noah’s third day as host of The Daily Show, and he and his team are already tackling a hot-button topic: Racism among police.

Although he’s having some difficulties adjusting to living in America, Noah is all too familiar with how difficult it is for people to talk about race—especially when the police are involved. So he sent Jordan Klepper and Roy Wood Jr. out to investigate—each with his own set of biases attached. And while not every cop is racist, of course, every cop does have an implicit bias, according to Chief Mike Koval of the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department.

Madison police found themselves in the headlines earlier this year after the death of 19-year-old Tony Robinson, who was unarmed when an officer shot him, sparking widespread Black Live Matter protests.

They don’t settle the issue—that would be impossible in a 10-minute segment—but they zero in on one tool that police officers have to battle that implicit bias: a police bias training program.
