Zack Snyder's 'Watchmen' is just like 'Batman v Superman'

Who's laughing now?

Some fans are still recovering from Zack Snyder’s polarizing and critically panned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but as Screen Junkies point it out in its latest Honest Trailers, he’s made this movie before.

Watchmen is even more beloved than The Dark Knight Returns for many comic book fans, but its movie adaptation suffers from many of the same problems that would eventually plague Batman v Superman—but one of them is overstuffed while the other is stretched so thin the plot doesn’t even make sense.

Watchmen is full of ruddy acting and on-the-nose dialogue, Jesus allegories, graphic violence, the apocalypse, and the Ultimate Cut even has two characters bonding over the same name. Really. But only one of them has blue, glowing male nudity.
Watchmen prequels and sequels stir controversy
Who watches the Watchmen? Alan Moore has had legions of devoted fans for 25 years, ever since he first addressed the question in his highly acclaimed Watchmen comic series. Today the fans have been in an uproar after DC Comics, which owns the rights to Watchmen, officially announced plans to release a series of prequels and sequels, all written without Moore’s input or consent.
