Who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo?
This debate has tormented nerds for generations, with George Lucas weighing in to say that Greedo shot first because otherwise Han Solo would be a “cold-blooded killer.”
In the 1997 re-release of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Lucas even inserted an extra shot indicating that Greedo was the aggressor—although as countless t-shirt slogans remind us, most fans prefer the idea that Han shot first. In the Blu-ray version of the movie, the two bounty hunters shoot at virtually the same time.
Ariana Grande, however, has a new solution to this debate. Could this video finally mark the end of Star Wars fans fighting over who shot first? We’re guessing no.
Either way, Harrison Ford already gave us the only answer that really matters: “I don’t know and I don’t care.” Stay frosty, Mr. Ford.
