We’re currently in a lull between Star Trek series, and fans are pouring their energy (and money) into documentaries. First it was Adam Nimoy’s For The Love Of Spock last year, and now it’s a movie about the making of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Produced by DS9 showrunner Ira Behr and directed by Adam Nimoy, the documentary What We Leave Behind just raised $150,000 on Indiegogo in a single day. It’s a retrospective from behind the scenes of the show, including cast interviews and a segment dedicated to brainstorming ideas for a hypothetical eighth season

The Indiegogo campaign is funding the film’s post-production costs, since the actual interviews have mostly been filmed already. Due to the success of the initial crowdfunding drive, we expect to see some new stretch goals soon.
