Following a successful Kickstarter campaign last year, the cult series Mystery Science Theater 3000 will return on Netflix.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new host will be Jonah Ray, accompanied by geek icons Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt as the new mad scientists. Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn are the new voice actors behind MST3K’s robots.

Three of the original cast members will return for guest appearances: Bill Corbett (Brain Guy), Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester) and Kevin Murphy (Professor Bobo). Bill Corbett also joins the new writing team, which includes Community star Joel McHale and showrunner Dan Harmon, and is headed up by former Daily Show lead writer Elliott Kalan.

MST3K made its debut all the way back in 1988, evolving into a cult show that just wouldn’t die. Thanks to the obsessive devotion of its fans, MST3K has traveled from local Minnesota TV to international popularity, before settling in its new home on Netflix.

We don’t have an airdate for that new series yet, but apparently it’s set to arrive in the “not so distant future.”
