When Monty Python star John Cleese followed Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck on Twitter last year, DC Comics fans wondered if he might have a role in the upcoming Batman movie. In a seemingly innocuous Twitter photo, Cleese just fanned the flames of that rumor.

The photo was posted on Jan. 20, but it only began to catch fans’ attention this week. If you look in the bottom right-hand corner of the image, you can see copies of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Justice League: Origin and Batman Noir: The Black Mirror on Cleese’s dressing table. Exactly the kind of reading list you’d expect from an actor preparing for a role in a Batman movie.

On the other hand, it’s possible that he just saw the rumor online and decided to troll his Twitter followers. This is John Cleese, after all.
