Just like everyone else on Twitter, J.K. Rowling has spent the past week obsessively following U.S politics.
Following this weekend’s immigration ban protests, Rowling criticized Mike Pence by taking a leaf from his own book: the Bible. In response to the vice president’s U-turn on refugee policies, she tweeted out a quote from the book of Matthew.

As always, her political tweets invited some pushback. But at this point, J.K. Rowling is a seasoned veteran of Twitter battles, and was ready with appropriate putdowns.

She may be one of the richest women in the world, but these tweets prove that deep down, she’s really no different from any other writer on Twitter.
