No, Wolverine is not going to be in an Avengers movie. Neither is Spider-Man. But wouldn’t it be cool if they were?

Superhero fans have long bemoaned the difficulties created by various Marvel characters being owned by different movie studios. Sony gets all the Spider-Man characters, Fox controls the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, while Marvel Studios retains control of most of the other heavy-hitters. And sadly, Marvel Studios are the only ones who have managed to create a coherent extended universe in the style of the original comics.

This brilliant fan-made trailer envisions what a true Marvel comics adaptation would look like, complete with the Hulk going up against Wolverine, team-ups between the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, and even a cameo created from old Ant-Man test footage.

Complicated? Maybe. But for Marvel comics fans, this kind of movie would be a dream come true. The Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Guardians of the Galaxy were all originally written into the same universe, after all. It’s just too bad that all those competing movie studios can’t organize a superhero team-up of their own.
