Nobody’s all that impressed to see a spectacular vehicle crash in, say, a Michael Bay blockbuster. Witnessing one firsthand, however, can be quite dramatic, as a motorist traveling along California’s Route 99 discovered this week.

A semi-trailer truck—loaded with boxes of trail mix—gets stuck in the worst possible place: a railroad crossing. An oncoming train (transporting Stryker armored personnel carriers) signals its approach again and again while the truck driver waves for the conductor to slow down or stop, but there’s nothing to be done. In the end, the train plows right through.

Thankfully, nobody was injured in the collision, but the insurance report is likely to be an exquisite pain all its own.
