The Occupy Wall Street movement, long-ridiculed as being comprised of unemployed stoners, smelly hipsters, and the homeless, just got a whole lot more polished with a new site simply called Occupy.

The site is glossy, graphic, and easy to navigate, especially compared to the other slapdash sites for the Occupy movement. The high level of funding behind the project, from cofounders/filmmakers David Sauvage and Larry Taubman, is immediately apparent and appreciated.

With the big “O” logo, Occupy is almost as slick as Oprah’s Web properties.

Occupy, which officially launched April 2, promises to function as a news aggregator as well as a original content manufacturer.

“It was very clear that the Occupy movement needed a way in which it could speak for itself, and without having to do it through the lens of other media,” Taubman told Mother Jones.

Jones perhaps said it best, calling the site “Huffington Post for the Occupy crowd.”
