If you’re feeling the need to compare food pictures on your Instagram account with others in person, then mark down July 26 on your calendar, as that’s when the annual Instameet happens.
For its fifth global meetup, Instagram is encouraging users to “go on an adventure” and take pictures of said adventure. Some of those pictures might make it on to Instagram’s blog on the following Monday.
Since the event in on a Thursday and that day might not work out for some people, the event will be occurring all that weekend. According to the MeetUp page, 377 cities are participating, spanning from Austin, TX to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
As for what to do that day, Instagram laid out a few rules. The first rule is to keep it simple (start the event at a park, or better yet, a bar), use hashtags like #instameet so people know it’s happening, and take a group photo so they can put it on their blog.
All that’s left to do is taking a vote to decide which filter looks best on the group.
