Congratulations! You now have a Facebook email address—whether you like it or not.

Despite what you may have listed in your “Contact Info” before, you now have an @facebook.com email address, which is based off of your chosen URL. And if you never opted to create a customized URL, Facebook made one for you.

Facebook recently synced the email services, which was announced a few years ago, with Timeline in April, according to Mashable.

“In addition to everyone receiving an email address, we’re also rolling out a new setting that gives people the choice to decide which addresses they want to show on their timelines,” a Facebook spokesperson told Reuters.

But fear not! If you don’t want the Facebook email address to show up on your profile, you can still get the email address off your profile by following a few easy steps.

All you have to do is go to “Contact Info” under the “About” tab, click on “Edit” and then the option “Hidden from Timeline” next to your Facebook email address. Hit “Save” and voila! From there you can put your old email address back or choose to not have one listed for your friends.
