A conservative talk-radio host in Jackson, Tenn., has apologized for posting a profane, racially charged rant on his personal Facebook, targeting the president and his voters.

Bill Way, the morning host on 101.5 WNWS-FM, called Obama a “pimp walking prez married to cheetahs daughter…expect what you will most certainly get.” He went on to make a derogatory sex reference involving embattled former CIA chief David Petraeus, and ended the rant with “I love America except for the idiots.”

The inflammatory remarks, obtained by The Jackson Sun, drew outrage from the NAACP, Way’s employer, and his listeners.

Way issued an on-air apology Monday, but the station didn’t let him finish his show. The station’s general manager Larry Wood said the comments were not a reflection of the station’s views.

“We certainly don’t condone the comments from Bill and appreciate his public apology,” Wood said. “We’re discussing his comments and apology. Considering the gravity of the situation, for now, by mutual agreement, Bill is taking a few days off.”

The local chapter of the NAACP called the comments “derogatory” and said they are “tired of actions and comments like these given by people whose only objective is to create racial disharmony and infuse hatred in our community.”

Way did not return calls from The Jackson Sun seeking comment.
