YouTube comments get the highbrow choir performance they (don’t) deserve

This should be YouTube's unofficial theme song.

Never has idiocy sounded so melodic.

YouTube comments sections are never a good place to look for charm or grace. Here’s a song, however, that uses the drivel of comment imbeciles and transforms it into something surprisingly beautiful.

The video, by sketch comedy troupe World Wide Interweb, shows four singers performing the comments from YouTube videos as an operatic tune. It’s like “Bohemian Rhapsody” reduced to the absolute least common denominator.

“I’d drag my balls through broken glass just to hear her fart through a walkie talkie,” one commenter croons.

YouTube has made efforts recently to clean up its notorious comments sections, syncing user accounts to Google+  to create greater transparency and filtering comments from people in shared circles and notable contributors.

But until those policies make a significant difference, this video should double as YouTube’s unofficial theme song.
