The Miami Dolphins, with coach Joe Philbin in the hot seat and a mountain to climb to overtake the Patriots in the AFC East, could always use some help. It’s unclear, though, what kind of assistance Warren Buffett could provide.
It’s unlikely the octogenarian could help on the pass rush, and he would probably be of little use trying to catch passes from quarterback Ryan Tannehill. But there Buffett was on Sunday, hanging out on the Miami sidelines and dressing auspiciously.
One might find it interesting that Buffett is donning the jersey of Ndamukong Suh, one of the dirtiest players in the NFL.
But in the past, Buffett—who happens to be buddies with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross—has defended Suh and all of his punishment-inducing dirty hits.
“When word got out that he was coming to Miami [as a free agent in the offseason], Warren Buffett called me… [to] congratulate me and tell me what a good kid he was,” Ross said, via CBS Detroit. “I think he’s mentoring him, and I love mentoring young guys. That’s how I built my company, and with a guy the character that he has and the opportunities that he’ll have, it’s kind of fun to work with a guy like that.”
So, there you go. It’s just a photo of one of most successful businessmen in the country playing dress-up while honoring the guy who once did all of this.
As an aside, here’s one clue why Buffett is so damn rich.
