Annoyed squids attack a Greenpeace submarine

It's unclear whether the confrontation was political in nature.

As an environmental protection group partial to direct action, Greenpeace has no shortage of enemies: the fossil fuel industry, agribusiness giants, and now, apparently, nature itself.

Amazing footage posted to Vine shows a pair of Bering Sea squids quite vexed by one of the organization’s research submarines, squirting ink and lashing out with tentacles. Greenpeace has deployed such devices to gather data on one of the world’s wildest ecosystems, with the aim of protecting its rich biodiversity—but these cephalopods didn’t get the memo.

What could have so upset the squid? Probably that Greenpeace had been giving octopi all the press.
