“Sandstorm,” the 1999 mega-hit by Finnish trance producer Darude, is one of the most popular techno songs of all time, the type of track that’s crossed over from the house and rave scene into the mainstream sport and social world. You can hear “Sandstorm” at basically any type of sporting event these days, be it a hockey game, boxing match, baseball game, or, apparently, darts contest

No surprise, then, that many musicians in this world have tried to parlay a bit of success off its likeness. Through the years, we’ve seen piano covers, guitar covers, heavy metal covers, and accordion covers (this one is truly special). Just this week, the Internet was gifted with another such rendition: a toy trumpet cover as performed by Chris Ott.

The Brooklynite, no doubt a gifted musician, appears stoically in a New York apartment wearing a white hat and salmon tie before launching into one of the most passionate renditions of the club thumper this here Internet has ever done seen. It’s remarkable, and makes us question every decision we made in elementary school recorder class.
