‘Sexy babe’ adult video uploaded to Ohio government website

This isn't the kind of 'nature' video the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources wants.

From conservative British politician Rob Wilson tweeting a link to Sexydigg.com to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following ancient Persian erotica on Twitter, for some reason public sector employees—or, probably more accurately, their media reps—have a nasty habit of accidentally linking to porn on the Internet.

The latest victim of this embarrassing (yet frankly hilarious) trend? The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which inadvertently posted two porn videos, including one titled “Sexy babe,” on its website.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that two adult videos were accidentally uploaded to the department’s division of oil and gas page Feb. 21, along with a handful of music files and other non-official material. An eagle-eyed Dispatch reader spotted the files and notified the paper, who then contacted the department.

According to an ODNR spokeswoman, the mishap was due to a flaw in the department’s risk-based data management system, which allowed non-credentialed members of the public to upload pretty much whatever file they wanted to the website. “Someone was using it as cloud storage. Unfortunately, it happens,” she told the Dispatch.

The files have since been removed from the website, and only credentialed employees are allowed to access the system. But having just checked out the snooze-worthy content on the ODNR website, it probably would’ve been to the department’s advantage to keep the files up. Seriously, if there’s one way to make reading about Ohio Forestry tax laws and Lake Erie boating regulations more interesting, it’s porn.
