Metallica would like you to drink some kind of Metallica beer

Finally, beer that tastes like heavy metal.

In what appears to be a final, grasping attempt at relevancy, Metallica is teaming up with Budweiser/Labatt to release a limited edition “black” beer. Black because they are so metal

The September 28 release of the beer is in conjunction with Colisée Pepsi and the opening of the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City, because what’s more Canadian than Budweiser and a heavy metal band formed in California?

Unfortunately, we so far have no indication of what the beer will actually taste like, or if that taste will be at all inspired by Metallica. Notes of lead and sweat, with a distinct aftertaste of old denim? Strong hints of unwashed hair? Intimations of Budweiser that used to be at least somewhat palatable but has been around so long and phoned it in so many times it’s almost unrecognizable as beer anymore?

Also, is it just us, or does the package design look like a Powerthirst ripoff?
