When you first make a new friend, it can be hard to find common ground. Humans may have trouble making conversation, while dogs and cats sometimes struggle to figure out what makes another animal tick. But this pup would do anything to get his feline buddy to play.
The title of this adorable YouTube encounter, “Husky Acquainted With Cat,” really says it all—each pet seems to realize the other isn’t a threat, though they haven’t quite finished sizing each other up. The curious dog extends a front paw, rolls onto his back, and fidgets about while emitting little growls to provoke a reaction from the stoic cat.
Eventually, you’ll be pleased to hear, they do fist-bump a few times.
You know, I doubt if I’ve seen a better visual metaphor for an awkward first date.
