The business card scene from American Psycho is one of the most obsessively detailed scenes in recent movie memory. Fourteen years later, of course there’s a “hipster” remake of it.

The Amsterdam-based creative agency Flickering Wall produced this modern-day version, but instead of a boardroom full of coked-up Wall Street guys one-upping each other with raised fonts and watermarks, they present the bearded, Warby Parker-ed men of the British jeanmaker Denham. In the video’s description, Flickering Wall’s creative director explained he got the idea after hearing the company’s founder, Jason Denham, talk about jeans:

“I recognized the same manic attention to detail and ravenous appetite for craftsmanship. This triggered the idea for a modern-day remake of the scene.”

In this version, instead of business cards, the men express contempt for each other through different cuts of denim, as they sit in their exposed brick loft-office. Patrick Bateman’s character is now played by a man with “prison tats,” and one of the employees wonders aloud if a certain pair of jeans has been washed in sake. The follow-up scene where Bateman kills Paul Allen’s character now involves artisan coffee and scissors but is sadly devoid of Huey Lewis & the News.

The word “hipster” should finally meet its end just like Paul Allen, but at least these guys can make fun of themselves for advertising purposes.
