We all do it. Crawling through Craigslist for hours at a time, falling into a bottomless hole, hoping that click after desperate click will reveal to us, finally, that one object, that obscure key to our completeness. That almost-new Pop-Tarts-brand toaster might be it, but no, not quite.

So we keep clicking, certain that eventually we’ll find our missing piece in the bowels of the consumer internet. But Craigslist users in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, have already found that object, and it’s a “Vintage Air Guitar” priced at $799. Praise be to the gods of pantomimed rock.

Reluctantly parting with this awesome vintage air guitar. My uncle saw some dude in the audience playing this at a Thin Lizzie concert back in the 70s. Long story short, my uncle ended up trading the dude a lid of Acapulco gold for it and then gave it to me about 20 years ago. I’ve taken it to more concerts than I can remember and always get great comments about it. It’s definitely a chick magnet, especially if you’re working the has-been tour circuit (Rick Springfield, Bon Jovi, Kansas, Cheap Trick, whatever). The only reason I’m selling is to fund my lifelong dream of an overseas snipe hunt. Otherwise I’d never let this one go. No lowball offers or scams please.

Babe magnet, musical dynamite, and ticket to a thrill-ride of imagination, this air guitar is a one-of-a-kind find. Only a man who truly has it all would let go of a treasure like this. The search is over. Craigslist is complete.
