You might not be able to walk on water, but one ingenious company came up with the next best thing.

Non-Newtonian fluids are both a solid and a liquid. Made with cornstarch and water, it moves like a body of water, but if you try to walk on it or drop something heavy into it, it wouldn’t immediately sink to the bottom.

Mach by Hong Leong Bank created 8,000 liters of oobleck (over 2,100 gallons) and put it in a pool in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. People were then invited to walk across it, dance, ride a bike, or anything else they could possibly think of.

Not everyone could rise up to the challenge, but sinking into a pool of oobleck just looks a lot more fun than sinking into water.

It’s not a modern-day miracle but science—and that’s what makes it even cooler.
