If you live in the northeast United States, you’d probably be thrilled if you never saw a snowflake again. But for those in warmer parts of the country who are currently having snow FOMO (SNOMO, if you will), a Massachusetts man is shipping blocks of snow to satisfy your need for wintry precipitation.
Kyle Waring, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, decided to capitalize on New England’s snow-heavy winter by monetizing the powdery build up. He launched ShipSnowYo.com, an online snow delivery service. It’s really that simple.
Waring spoke to Boston.com about his new business venture:
“I put the snow in a plastic bag, and put that in tinfoil,” Waring said. “Then I put that package in an insulated container that’s an inch and a half thick, and ship it overnight. It’s sealed tight in Omaha steaks packaging.”

Customers can order snow in three quantities: a 16.9-ounce bottle for $19.99, a 6-pound block for $89, and a 10-pound package for $199. While this might seem a bit pricey for a product that will self-destruct in a matter of minutes, if you live in a brain-meltingly warm climate, you might just be willing to pay.
Waring admits that there’s no guarantee your snow will arrive intact. He’s working on new packaging to preserve it, but until then, the site has a disclaimer: “Under the current packaging and shipping methodology, your order may arrive as water!”
After the snow melts, Waring says he may set his sights on shipping fall foliage.
