PornHub reveals what we masturbate to on Valentine’s Day

This article contains sexually explicit material.

If you’re alone on Valentine’s Day, you’re going to jack (or jill) off—it’s as simple as that. But do the festivities going on outside your bedroom determine the type of porn you peruse? The data hounds over at PornHub asked the same question, and according to them, the answer is unequivocally yes.

For one thing, people actually want holiday-themed content. Last year, “Valentines Day” cracked the top ten search terms, slotting nicely between “squirt” and “ebony.”

It seems people want to push the envelope, too: Categories like “bondage,” “anal,” “creampie,” and “fisting” all enjoyed a spike in activity on Valentine’s Day 2014—along with “funny.”

Overall, though, porn consumption on Valentine’s Day dipped 2 percent in the U.S. compared to the average day, presumably because many regular masturbators were putting the moves on their significant others that night. Even so, some states—looking at you, Kansas—saw big bumps in traffic.
