It turns out North Korea uses the Internet for a lot more than just hacking the email accounts of Sony executives, or at least that’s what Pornhub would like to imagine. On Wednesday, the tube giant decided to get in on the April Fools’ fun by imagining what porn the citizens of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea would peruse if they had an Internet connection or any type of basic human freedoms.
Pornhub chose to lure in unsuspecting readers using its hallmark set of infographics, and even included Korean characters in the bottom left-hand corner which translate to “April Fool’s Day.” A spokesperson from the site offered the Daily Dot a little insight into how the prank was hatched.
Since North Korea is known to exist behind a shell of sorts – and using what we’ve seen about the country’s lack of access to Internet or general information – we thought it’d be an interesting and hilarious concept to apply to our data insights as an April Fool’s joke. We haven’t really capitalized on the April 1st joke trend thus far, and figured that gave us an upper hand of sorts since people wouldn’t see it coming.
So what kind of sick and twisted statistics did the site dream up? Everything from popular categories to top search terms were included in the fictitious findings. While there were a few cheap shots about the stamina of the North Korean sex drives—allegedly they spend only a minute and 48 seconds self-pleasuring—most of the jokes were all in good fun.
The site paints a picture of the country’s citizens as being a highly patriotic bunch who enjoy saluting their leader in the bedroom as well. “Kim Jong-Un” and “Korean” were said to be the two most popular search terms when it came time finding smut. Pornhub decided to throw in a few tips to its charade by including terms like “Dennis Rodman,” “gangnam style,” and “christian mingle” in the mix.
Of course, the site couldn’t rest till it created a breakdown of the country’s preferred adult entertainers: with Czech beauty Abigaile Johnson and dark delight Mandingo vying for the No. 1 spot when it comes to most-popular porn star. In addition to a handful of prominent Asian talents, this country also enjoys the timeless performances of Ron Jeremy, Lisa Ann, and of course Kim Kardashian.
