How one woman went from porn to unwrapping kids’ toys on YouTube

Meet Daiane DeJeus. According to the Daily Mail, DeJeus is the woman behind the uber-lucrative yet mysterious YouTube channel DC Toys Collector, which features a woman unpacking toys and reviewing the playthings. The identity behind the lady in the videos was long unknown until the Daily Mail conducted a thorough investigation.

Turns out there’s more to the woman in the videos. Before DeJeus was the face (or hands, as the case may be) of the YouTube channel that made an estimated $4.9 million in 2014 and has nearly 3,800,000 subscribers, she used to be a porn star by the name of Sandy Summers.

The Daily Mail investigation went to great lengths to out DeJeus, talking to former neighbors who confirmed the voice in the YouTube videos as that of DeJesus. The paper also matched a mole and scar on her left elbow to those on “Sandy Summers,” as seen in a series of revealing photos.

The Daily Mail is no stranger to outing former sex workers. Last year, the publication also jumped through hoops to figure out the true identity of the student auctioning off her virginity

The media in general has also made it increasingly difficult for sex workers to pursue other career paths, without having their pasts come back to haunt them. In 2013, for instance, a California teacher was fired after her porn past came to light. At this point, however, it’s unclear how this uncovering of DeJeus’s identity will affect DC Toys Collector’s success, if at all.
