A new video from Cosmopolitan addresses catcalling in a novel way: by showing women’s boyfriends reacting to their partners’ catcalling incidents.

The magazine discreetly filmed three women walking down the street and receiving various whoops and gawks from unknown men. Those women then joined their boyfriends in a studio to watch the footage together. The men’s reactions range from physical distress to intellectual dissection of the issue.

“He looked at your ass, whatever. All right, I’m getting pissed off,” one man, Seth, said in response to his girlfriend Olivia’s video. “I’m not happy with this.”

A man named Jon took more umbrage at the footage of his girlfriend Tessa. “It sucks,” he said. “I’m glad people are making it an issue and not standing for it anymore.”

The viral video “10 Hours Of Walking In NYC As A Woman” significantly raised the profile of catcalling and street harassment last year by presenting dozens of disturbing incidents on video. With any luck, Cosmopolitan‘s video showing men reacting to catcalling will lead to less of this behavior in the future.
