Alex knows who he is, and he’s got the inspiring rap to prove it.

The youngster wrote a rap song about how he came out as transgender to his mom while performing at Camp Aranu’tiq. It’s a camp for “transgender and gender-variant youth” and their families to build confidence and community.

He’s got backup behind him to keep the beat, and while it may be a story many of the children at Camp Aranu’tiq know from personal experience, it’s one others who have yet to come out may need to hear. We can’t wait to see what Alex will do once he’s older.

“Please treat everyone / the way you expect / we all deserve freedom, love, and respect,” Alex says, pushing a final message that anyone can get behind.
