A wine-sipping Philadelphia city attorney who apparently did nothing to stop an act of anti-Donald Trump vandalism is keeping his job, at least for now.

Duncan Lloyd, an assistant city solicitor, was captured by a surveillance camera on Nov. 25, wearing a blue blazer, nonchalantly carrying a glass of wine down a sidewalk in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. A second man, whom Lloyd is seen following and photographing with his phone, spray-painted “Fuck Trump” on a wall outside of a newly-opened grocery store.

“It’s certainly hateful and inappropriate and unacceptable,” Philadelphia’s Democratic mayor, Jim Kenney, told Philly.com, adding, “but people are human beings, and they make mistakes, and it’s a dumb mistake. It’s hateful graffiti; hateful graffiti is never acceptable whether it’s a city employee or not.”

Acceptable or not, Lloyd has so far managed to retain his job, likely only because he filmed the crime as opposed to vandalizing anything himself. First Deputy City Solicitor Craig Straw told reporters that Lloyd is cooperating with law enforcement, who is still on the lookout for the hooded vandal in a blue hooded jacket.

“If the image of an upper-middle-class city attorney clad in a blazer and sipping wine while vandalizing an upscale grocery store with an anti-Trump message strikes you as perhaps the most bourgeois sight imaginable, that’s because it is,” said Joe DeFelice, chairman of the Philadelphia Republican Party.
