A California man set himself on fire outside the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday evening to protest Donald Trump’s election.

“I was trying to light myself on fire as an act of protest,” the man, who withheld his name, told News4. “Protesting the fact that we’ve elected someone who is completely incapable of respecting the Constitution of the United States.”

The man was reportedly taken to the hospital to treat his burns.

The drastic act of protest comes just two days before Trump takes the oath of office at noon on Jan. 20 in Washington. Anti-Trump protests are scheduled to take place around the world, with at least 200,000 people expected to attend the Women’s March on Washington.
