How can you possibly top Jake Smitka’s week-long Snapchat adventures with a baby squirrel? Try palling around with pet kangaroo.

Australian entertainer Jackson O’Doherty posted a compilation video of his adventures with a baby kangaroo. It’s a plush life. They hit the beach, swing set, and grab groceries after putting in some time in at a construction site. Not a bad life.

Viewers on Reddit were quick to point out that kangaroos are a protected species in Australia under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974. It’s illegal to have one as a pet, and they’re prone to stress-related diseases that can be brought on by human interaction and other domestic pets. They also can become “aggressive on reaching sexual maturity.”

That doesn’t necessarily mean that O’Doherty is breaking the law. He could be fostering the kangaroo—which would explain why he’s bottle-feeding it at the end of the video.

But I think the real question is: Why the hell is O’Doherty pushing a shopping cart on the beach?
