What if Nintendo’s favorite characters invaded a galaxy far, far away?
YouTube channel Dark Pixel released on Tuesday a Star Wars/Mario Kart mashup in which Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Princess Peach swap go-karts for starfighters and race tracks for hyperspace lanes. You’ll still find plenty of banana peels and Koopa shells, however.
It took a year for the Dark Pixel crew to produce this three-and-a-half minute animated short. Mario gets the X-Wing and King Bowser gets Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced, of course. We wouldn’t have pegged Yoshi for the A-Wing, but Luigi feels right in the Y-Wing with Toad-D2.
The Dark Pixel channel also offers a selection of live-action films based on Skyrim, Shadow Complex, and GoldenEye 007.
