We love Star Wars. We love Guardians of the Galaxy. And we love cute little animals. So why not combine all three?
Fortunately for the fate of mankind, someone at the Nerdist not only had the bright idea to do just that, but knew where to find the cutest animals around. As a result, their latest parody is a stroke of genius.
Star Fox: The Fur Awakens manages to be a cheeky satire of the biggest box office hit of 2014 as well as the biggest box office hit of 2015. (We’re calling it now.) But it’s also full of furry animals doing cute things.
Why aren’t you watching this yet?
The best thing about this lovingly retro spoof is that we can totally see someone pitching this premise to Disney, Marvel, and J.J. Abrams right now.
“See, there’s a fox, who’s also a fighter pilot! The fox is voiced by Chris Pratt! Or Chris Pine! Just pick a Chris, any Chris.”
We’ll hold out for the sequel where Fox McCloud and friends join forces with Air Bud.
