At least some PlayStation 4 owners are getting the chance to choose which games they want to see available as a free download on PlayStation Plus.
We didn’t see the introductory video for the voting service on our PS4, but one British console owner posting on NeoGAF had it on his or her PS4 and was able to take a few screenshots.
This could mean that the voting model will initially launch in the U.K. Push Square’s Sammy Barker, who is located in the U.K., also saw the video.
The NeoGAF forum user, El_Cinefilo, did update their post to say that Sony had since removed the Vote to Play video.
While the voting system was active, the three games on the ballot were Zombie Vikings, Armello, and Grow Home.
Although being able to choose which games to freely download is empowering, the vote is likely to turn into a giant popularity contest instead of games being judged on their uniqueness or interestingness.
That said, Sony releases six free download per month through PlayStation Plus. Vote to Play could simply be Sony’s way of turning one of those into a democratically selected title without affecting the other five games.
