In the U.S., Monster Hunter may not be the phenomenon that it is in Japan, but maybe Samus Aran can change that.

During a Japanese Nintendo Direct earlier today, Nintendo announced that gamers will be able to play as Metroid heroine Samus or Zero Suit Samus in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Yes, you’ll be able to use her hand cannon to fight off giant purple dragons.

Capcom’s action RPG is immensely popular in Japan and has a strong following worldwide. This isn’t the first time the series has crossed over with other major franchises. There’s already SonicAnimal Crossing, and Zelda crossover armor sets.

The game will hit the west in early 2015.
